Roku, added to their roster. The streaming company continues to expand their lineup on The Roku Channel.
Since first launch in 2017, The Roku Channel, has been rapidly expanding their offerings. Shortly after its launch, the channel rolled out more content such as news, sports, TV shows, and other entertainment based channels. Expanding their content helped the channel to become one of their most watched on the Roku platform.
Now, The Roku Channel, is expanding beyond ad-supported movies and premium subscriptions. In fact, Roku announced the addition of several more live TV channels available to anyone with a Roku streaming device or Roku TV.
Roku is adding five free live TV channels to their offerings, most notably, fubo’s Sports Network.
fuboTV, is an over-the-top internet television services that primarily focuses on channels that distribute live sports. For example, the NFL, NBA, and MLB to name a few.
The fubo’s Sports Network is the first TV channel of fuboTV’s collection designed for distribution outside of their own platform.
In addition to fubo’s Sports Network, the Roku Channel is also adding four other networks including ACC Digital Network, USA Today, Now This (news), and Comedy Dynamics.
These five channels are part of a broader expansion that Roku has been launching all year! Their paid lineup includes top premium networks like HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz, EPIX, and many others.
This expansion could help Roku continue their positive 2019. As they closed out the second quarter with 30.5 million active accounts.
